Samuel's First Hair Cut!

Samuel has been ready for his first hair cut for a bit, but Mommy had to be ready to say good-bye to his cute curls!  Most people don't know how curly his hair is because it tends to get flat after he sleeps on it, so here's the proof and a good BEFORE picture:
Samuel chose to sit in a green tractor for his first haircut!
He was very cooperative and did such a great job!
What a big boy!

Going down the BIG slide!
It was time for Emma to have a good trim too since Mom usually cuts her hair.

Yay for Grandparents!

We had a great weekend with a much anticipated visit from Grandma & Grandpa B!  We were busy but enjoyed including them in some special events!  They were able to pick Nathan up from school and participate in Emma's music lesson on Friday.  On Saturday they accompanied us to Indianapolis for Samuel's first haircut and family fun at Chuck E. Cheese!  The kids (& Brian & I) were thrilled to have such special visitors!

Little & Big

Spelling

Emma is now sounding out and spelling words on her own.  It is so neat to see the light in her eyes when she realizes she knows how to spell a new word!

So Loved

and so does Daddy, Nathan, Emma, Samuel...

Spring has sprung!

...temporarily anyway.  We've had a few days of highs in the 70's so the kids have really enjoyed playing outside.  Looks like we'll be back to cooler weather before the end of the week though.

Big Sis

We had a fun visit the last couple of days with my sister LuAnne.  Lucas told her all kinds of stories and gave her lots of big smiles!

Bonding

It is so sweet to see our two littlest guys bonding...

The Best School Year Ever

That is the title of the play we saw today -put on by Nathan's class.  All of the kids did a really good job!
Nathan played the part of Ollie Herdman (a name you might recognize from The Best Christmas Pageant Ever).  He made several appearances and had one speaking part.

Awesome job, Nathan!

Literacy Fair

Today was the Literacy Showcase for our public schools.  Each school had samples of studnets work on display at a local shopping mall.  Nathan was proud to show us his poster about John Quincy Adams:
Nathan wanted to stop at a sports kiosk and decided to buy a few football & baseball cards- the first real interest he's shown in this area.  Of course Daddy was thrilled to help him choose...

ER

Lucas hasn't been feeling very well lately.  He's had an awful cough, and began wheezing on Wednesday.  After spending that evening in the Emergency Room he now has a nebulizer to use and seems to be slightly better.  His cough isn't quite as rough though it does cause him to vomit at times and he is still wheezing.  It is not easy watching such a tiny one go through all of this...

Lucas lying on the smallest gown they could find.  Needless to say, they did not make him wear it!
