The weekend before Halloween I was recovering from minor surgery and had a fever so I stayed home while Brian took the kids to the pumpkin patch for their annual visit! They enjoyed every minute of it and brought home a bit of our favorite fudge!
The Corn Box is always a big hit!
While they were gone I worked on our pumpkins. I had specific requests from each child on how to prepare or begin work on their pumpkin.
When they got home we carved the ones that were to be carved, and put finishing touches on them... roasted pumpkin seeds, and had pizza movie night.

Samuel wanted the Batman symbol
Emma decided on a kitty
Nathan's was a Minion from the movie Despicable Me
That same weekend, the kids went to a pumpkin party at Grandma's church. The younger three entered the dress like a pumpkin contest:
Samuel won for the "sweetest pumpkin", Emma was the "cutest" (which was the award she REALLY wanted), Lucas was the "newest" (he joined the party at the end since it was during his nap time), and Nathan was the "coolest" big kid helper.
Lucas, Samuel, and Emma entered a Pumpkin coloring contest in our local newspaper. They all did a great job!
Emma WON in the age 6-10 category and her picture was published in the newspaper on Halloween day! She received the orange pumpkin bag full of little prizes and shared them with her brothers.
