Closing Ceremony
Last week we attended the closing ceremony for our Classical Conversations program that Emma participated in.
Emma's class
All the kids and their "vocal orchestra". Emma is straight back in the center.
Emma's class presented a couple of things they learned as well as an art assignment of their choosing:
Each child received a character award. Emma received the award for "gentleness." We were so proud of her!
Emma worked hard to be a "History subject Master". This means that she memorized (and recited for three individuals at three separate times) the 24 history statements (songs) for this year. She did awesome!
One Proud girl!
It was a nice way to wrap up the year!
Emma picked a couple of her favorite history statements to share for examples:

Mega Party
The day after Nathan's birthday we all attended a combined party for three kids in one family. They are good friends of ours and are moving away in less than one month. Everyone had a great time with the games, pinata, and hanging out with friends.
Everyone with their Lego faces
Pin the face on the Lego guy

After that, I took Emma to another party for a friend of hers from her previous school. She saw several old friends there and had a great time.

Happy Birthday Nathan!
We decided that a good tradition for a thirteenth birthday is letting the birthday boy/girl pick a place to eat out. We generally don't go out to eat for birthdays so this is something special. Nathan was happy with our decision and chose Red Lobster for our meal. His buddy Nathan G. came along too.
CRAB LEGS!
His birthday balloon
He chose classic Batman & Robin for his birthday theme
It was a little tough to blow out all those candles!
At the end of the day he said, "It was a VERY AWESOME birthday!"
