First Sunday of Advent

Our family got to light the first Advent candle at church on Sunday.  Everyone said their lines and did a great job!  It was a neat experience for us all.

Deer

We have had quite a few deer sightings in our yard lately.  Gracie sometimes sees them before we do and lets us know!  This night Brian saw three standing on the path that goes up our hill (what the kids call the mountain).  He told me to come out with my camera.  Gotcha!

Thanksgiving

We celebrated Thanksgiving in our usual way- dinner at Grandma's and hanging out with family.  Several were missing this year, but we did enjoy those who were there!

Nerf battles are a favorite tradition!

Savannah's birthday

Samuel's best friend at school is Savannah.  She invited him to her birthday party, and also invited Lucas and Emma who she talks to on the bus.  I tagged along since all three were going AND they would be swimming.

I had a newborn session at our house so when I was setting up Emma helped me test my studio lighting.  She was a fun model.

Emma and I were out and about... every time I looked over at her I couldn't help but think about how adorable she looked in her new hat.  I had my camera with me and asked if she minded if we stopped for a few pictures.  She was a good sport!

 We always enjoy a good band concert with our favorite percussionist!

Ballet Magnificat

Emma and I got to see another amazing ballet in our own city.  We went with some friends as we did a few years ago when we saw Ballet Magnificat.  This performance was called Face To Face and it was really good!

Lucas reads

Lucas is loving his new ability to read.  He finds great pleasure in making lists of the "wall words" from his classroom, and sounds out words he sees all around!  He was excited to bring home his own reading chart (like the big kids) and an included book!
