Samuel rocks 4!

Samuel began his 4th birthday in style!
It was a chilly morning so he wore his bathrobe and an warm angry birds hat!
When it warmed up a bit I took the boys to a nearby park for some playtime.  They had a blast!

 FLYING!
 Birthday snuggles with Mom
Daddy took him to pick out his birthday balloon-- Angry birds of course!

For dinner, he had requested mac-n-cheese, hotdogs, and raw carrots.  What a feast!
 Star Wars Angry Birds Party!

He thought his cake was "Super Cool!" and commented that he couldn't stop staring at it...

Sewing

Emma is suddenly REALLY interested in sewing.  The other day after she had begged me for two days to do a sewing project with her, we finally did.  She wanted to make a stuffed animal so we looked through our limited collection of fabric and put it together.  Grandma helped sew the body, then we stuffed it, sewed the face onto a piece of felt and sewed that on.  It turned out really cute!
Meet Doty (pronounced Dottie):

Rash

Poor Lucas has had a rough couple of weeks.
On my birthday he wasn't wanting to eat and we realized he had a fever.  He even said no to ice cream cake!  I checked his throat and saw that his tonsils were huge and red.  The next day he tested positive for strep throat.  Thankfully I think we caught it early.
About a week later he was having a fussy day and did not seem like himself at all... we were kind of watching him wondering what was wrong.  When he got up from his nap his back and stomach were covered in smooth red spots!  Another trip to the doctor confirmed a reaction to the antibiotic.  Before long he was literally covered from head to toe!   It took a few days to clear up but he is fine now and no more penicillin for him!

The City

Spring Break post #3
The view from our hotel room
We walked everyplace we went, and it was so neat to be surrounded by such incredible buildings!
The site was impressive to say the least, whether we were out during the day or at night.

1st stop- LEGOLAND!

Spring Break post #1
During spring break last week we spent a few days in Chicago.  We had a great trip and enjoyed being together!  When we got there we went straight to the Legoland Discovery Center!  This was definitely a highlight!
There were so many amazing Lego displays
(part of downtown Chicago)
The Star Wars room was really impressive!

Looks like an incredible place huh?
Other highlights were the Kingdom quest ride
and the 4D movie (we got lightly sprayed with water, and SNOWED on!)
Each of the kids enjoyed building and racing various lego cars...

There was a large indoor play area, and Lucas loved the big slide!
We finished off the night with a little shopping at the attached Lego store, and then dinner at the Rainforest Cafe.
