It felt strange to go on a mini vacation without Nathan, but he was off on another vacation with his other family, so he didn't mind. :)
We took the other three kiddos to a hotel/water park in Indy. They were quite impressed with the room, especially the balcony. (Although Lucas may have preferred a balcony door that didn't look "open" when it was closed-- ouch!).
We arrived one evening, spent that night, the whole next day, and the 2nd night, and left mid morning on the 3rd day. During that time we swam in the pool four times and visited the water park 3 times (the water park was all in one day)! What else did we do? Pretty much just eat and sleep. We had a blast!
Enjoying the view from the balcony
The first fun was swimming in the heated pool:
Samuel blowing bubbles under water
The Water Park
The kids were fascinated with the dump
the last dump experience was at Holiday World in 2012
Lucas's favorite "safe" spot which was relatively dry while water poured down on all sides of him. Immediately after, he always went right for the slide.
Emma hiding from the dump
Samuel keeping Lucas safe
Emma floating down the lazy river... her favorite
Dad and Mom each went down water slides a few times. This is Dad's splash, and expression after one of his rides:
Poor Samuel had some issues with coughing each time we were at the water park. We were told it was due to the chlorine, and something we should follow up with our doctor about as it could indicate asthma. Though he really didn't like his "coughing sickness", it didn't completely spoil his fun- he generally didn't want to leave. It took him about an hour to recover after leaving the water park each time.
