Recently Emma decided she wanted to take piano lessons. We looked into it and found the perfect teacher-- our youth pastor's wife, and the perfect time-- during Class Action, when we are already at our church! She didn't care for her last hour class (Maps) so we set up her lesson to be during that time. Perfect!
She began lessons knowing that she would have a break in December for her teacher to have a baby. Also knowing there would be a recital in early December! In order to feel more comfortable playing in the recital after just 4 lessons, I agreed to play a duet with her at her request.
After our recital practice at a local nursing home, Emma decided to play a solo as well.
Emma taught herself this song between lessons out of one of my old piano books.
She did so well!
