Today we said goodbye to my dear Uncle Kent.
We will miss him.
In truth though, we have been missing him for a while. He has had health issues for a few years so he and Aunt Julia haven't been unable to travel the many hours from Oklahoma. We were so glad he was able to come home one last time to give us all a chance to say goodbye.
My Uncle Marty (Kent's brother-in-law) spoke at his service. He reminded us of the fun, silliness, and many adventures of this unique guy. He also shared that while they never had kids of their own, their nieces and nephews were their children and they did not hesitate to invest in those lives. Truth.

Six years ago- their last visit here.
I'm sorry it took such a huge loss for us to be together again BUT, it IS good to be together again.
My facebook post from the day he died:
Uncle Kent had a smile that could brighten anyone's day. His sense of humor was easy to appreciate and his laugh was contagious. He was easy to be around and gave awesome hugs. We will miss this sweet man but are thankful to know that he is now FULLY healed.
