Last weekend Emma and I attended her first Girl Scout camp-out. We went to Camp NaWaKwa... the very place I camped as a Girl Scout so many years ago!
We stayed in a Hogan... brought back many memories...
It got down to about 40 at night so we were nice and cozy in our thick sleeping bags. It was cloudy, but we left the next evening before the big rain hit.

There were so many fun activities: tie dyeing, painting, bird watching, fishing, and more...
Emma was nervous about canoeing. I told her she just had to try it and if she didn't like it we could head back to shore.

She was tentative at first, but ended up LOVING it!
She liked playing with her friends, but preferred to be close to me most of the time. I can't complain about that!- I know there will come a day when she prefers the company of others to that of her Mom.

She said, "I wish I could camp here every day! This place is awesome!"
