This year we had Emma's party early due to a couple of scheduling issues. We don't usually do big-bunch-of-friends parties in our family... we enjoy the simplicity and intimacy of parties with family at home. This year though we decided to do something a little different due to Emma's school closing (more on that later). We didn't want to seem unfair to Nathan whose birthday was only a few weeks earlier so we added some cupcakes and friends for him as well. Everyone had a great time (except Lucas who had been sick and only made a brief appearance for cupcakes and ice cream). He didn't seem to mind though.
After we sang to her and she blew out the candles, Emma turned to me and said, "I just feel SO GREAT!"
The boys enjoyed their own table right beside the girl's table...
Most of the girls wore tutus or other ballet attire since this was a ballet party... I loved watching them run around and go down the bouncy slides in their little outfits!
And a great time was had by all!
