Nerd

For Nathan's Halloween school dance, he dressed as a Nerd.  We thought it was an awesome costume.

The students were allowed to wear costumes to school on Halloween, so he was a Nerd again, this time without a wig.
Nathan is our favorite Nerd!

Another tooth

Tooth #8
She pulled it herself!

Father/Son Campout

We found out about a Father Son Camp (Raising Mighty Men for Christ) in Illinois so Brian and Nathan went to it.  There were over 500 in attendance.  They had a really good time listening to speakers, hiking, doing a variety of outdoor activities and just hanging out at the campground.  This is an annual event and it's easy to see it becoming a tradition with Daddy and his boys.

Halloweening

The younger three kids had two opportunities to dress in their Halloween costumes for events before Halloween even came.  The first was a special indoor Trunk or Treat at Daddy's work.  They got to follow special footprints through the building and "trick or treat" at various doorways.  It was great fun!

They were a little unsure about the green furry monster (hand) at first, but ended up thinking this was the best door!

Ice cream in the cafeteria!

The other opportunity came during a weekend that Dad and Nathan were gone.  We decided to find some fun things to do.  We went to a Trunk or Treat at the church where Samuel had Pre-K, and afterwards attended a Fall Festival at Chic-fil-a.  Both were pretty cool!
The highlight of the first event was FINALLY seeing Menchie

Chic-fil-a really knows how to do things right!  We had such fun there!

Super

Nathan went to a church Block Party with a friend of his and was pleased to find that the theme was "super hero!"

Our Heritage Girl

Emma has recently become an American Heritage Girl.  It is an organization like Girl Scouts, but it is God centered.  Her "level" is Tenderheart.  Recently she earned her first patch after an evening of activities with the troop at a local church and then at the Rose Hulman Observatory:

Space Explorer
Emma had not seen the patch yet and was asked to draw what she imagined it might be like.  She was really close!

4 little pumpkins

We had fun with our pumpkins this year.  Lucas picked a picture of Mickey Mouse that he wanted Daddy to carve and then we made ears to complete the look.
Nathan used a template from a book.  He and Dad worked on it together.
Samuel was set on his pumpkin having a mouth full of candy.
He drew this picture and then Dad cut the face out of his pumpkin.

Emma wanted hers to be a different kind of cat then last year, so she chose the Cheshire Cat!

We also painted these little gourds that we bought at the Covered Bridge Festival:
