The kids thought this particular day felt like a holiday, so we called it "Avalon Day"-- the day we closed on our new house!
The kids thought this particular day felt like a holiday, so we called it "Avalon Day"-- the day we closed on our new house!
Backing up to a few weeks earlier when our offer was accepted. The kids hadn't known we made an offer, though they absolutely loved the house! We weren't sure we would get it as we knew another offer went in at the same time. When we found out, we took them to the house, stood them by the front door and asked, "How would you like to live here?" Their response was priceless:
The two youngest didn't quite get what was happening, but the older two KNEW!
Then we began the process of inspections and negotiations for repairs. It was a bit of a rollercoaster, but in the end, it all worked out.
