Last year during the school year Nathan asked if we could have a Star Wars day and make food from his Star Wars cookbook. I suggested we wait until summer when we could really make a day of it and pick all of our food from the cookbook.
So, yesterday was THE day...
All the kids were excited. We began by making breakfast together...
turning off the lights and unwrapping glow sticks that looked a lot like light sabers...
The kids wore varying degrees of costume:
Nathan, Darth Vader
Emma, Princess Leia, of course
Samuel was Yoda
And we thought Lucas made a great Eewok!
Nathan had a list of games he had made up, some for outside, some for inside.
I happened to remember that we had Star Wars Play-doh molds, so we did that for a while too...
Our lunch was a little bit of a challenge, but yummy:
AND
After lunch, a few more Star Wars characters joined us for some of the outside games, Star Wars (Lego) video games, and a Star Wars snack:
We had made Yoda Soda a couple of years ago, so this time we changed things up a bit (sprite instead of sparkling water, and blueberries instead of limes, also no sherbet. So it was more of a Max Rebo soda, but was a big hit!)
Dad got to help with dinner preparations {we also saved him samples of everything else we made}:
What a fun day!
