The Magic Kingdom

Yay, I am finally getting back to sharing our Disney vacation from last October!  If you want to take a look at my last entry about it, you can read it here.

Our 5th day of vacation was MK day-- the day we spent at Magic Kingdom!

My dear old friend Mark met us at the gates and kind of showed us the ropes... He and his wife (also a good friend whom I was able to see another day) are pretty much Mr. and Mrs. Disney.  It was awesome to see them, and they were such a blessing to our family.

First Stop-- the Dumbo ride!

We rode it several times!

After a couple of rides we caught one of the amazing Disney parades!
Samuel kept saying, "This is the BEST DAY EVER!"
We rode a few more rides and then were surprised to see a show at the castle!  Besides princesses, we saw Mickey, Minnie, Wendy, Peter Pan and crew, Donald, Goofy and more!

We thoroughly enjoyed it!

More rides...

We left Magic Kingdom for a super special meal that day, but I will have to do a separate post about that...

We didn't do a lot of standing in line to see characters but there were a few high priority signatures we sought:

Merida from Brave-- she was awesome!

Fairies-- Tinkerbell and Rosetta!

It's a small world was Emma's absolute favorite ride, and brought back memories for Mom...  Emma thought the angel room was "like heaven!"
We had a little drama around lunchtime.  Emma sat her Princess Minnie hat down while at a cooling station (so it wouldn't get wet in the mist) and someone stole it.  I was away riding Space Mountain with Nathan.  When we returned she was heart broken.  We looked and asked people who worked there but it was gone.
It had been a special gift and she wanted us to replace it.  These things aren't cheap so we just let it sit for a while... to solidify the lesson while we decided what to do.
Later in the day we came upon a stand with the same kind of hat.  I asked the worker how much they were and told him what had happened.  He was appalled.  He made a phone call and then told us that what had happened was not right and he was going to give Emma a new hat... Emma's face lit up!

Lucas did not like the sound of the evening fireworks show so he covered his ears... and fell asleep and stayed asleep!

 What a truly magical place!
