THE BEST THING ABOUT ME IS:  "hugs"
MY FAVORITE MEMORY IS:  Disney trip
MY FAVORITE PHRASE (said most often):  "Is it on sale?"
If I say "no" then he isn't interested in it any long (even if it's a very cool toy!)
Sometimes it's hard to remember that he is still little
(don't tell him I said that... or he will protest, "I IS a BIG boy!"
but really, he isn't all that big!
With three older siblings he knows about and likes "bigger kid" toys, books, etc... BUT he still really enjoys toys, shows, songs, and books that are geared toward his age and younger.  I love it when I see him fascinated by a toddler show on tv, or playing with toys that the other kids are too "old" to play with.

Super Heroes in Sesame Street!
There is a sweetness about Lucas that melts my heart.  He is such a little lover boy with hugs and kisses for his Mama all day long!  My favorite time of day with him is first thing in the morning when he hops in bed with Dad & I.  Before he (& I) go out to face the day we have some quality snuggle time in my bed.  Sometimes when we don't have to be up early he falls back to sleep.  Other times he's fully awake but when I ask if he's ready to get up he says no.  He sure enjoys being my little snuggle bug!
He is very BUSY... always exploring and manipulating whatever he can find.  He has done so many things that none of our other kids ever tried... I cannot count the number of items he has broken while simply exploring them... he will trying just about anything.
He is a an inventor, an opportunist, a take-aparter, and a put-togetherer, a find-a-different-wayer, and a quicker-than-you-thinker!
He knows how to make his siblings laugh and does it intentionally quite often.  Silly is his other middle name.
And I love to see the joy and excitement he derives from the simplest things...
Some of his three-ness breaks through on occasion when he doesn't get his way, but most of the time he is our sweet, silly, fun-loving, cuddly Lucas!
Samuel wore this same red coat two years ago... You can see him here.

A glimpse into the future

For the longest time Emma looked forward to the two of us going to a coffee shop and taking pictures of her dressed as a "woman".  It was dress-up taken to the next level.  She really enjoyed it, and much preferred her apple juice to the taste of my coffee.
This was months ago, but I didn't want to forget to post them because she really loved this and thinks her "woman pictures" are very cool!

Preserving Winter

Before long, winter will be gone, but tiny glorious moments of it have carefully been preserved...

Making it snow

Emma was so proud to figure out her own way of making it snow while playing outside:

Samuel was the very willing recipient of most of Emma's snow showers:

Lucas preferred to ride in the sled with a hockey stick.

Drawing Contest

When I was working on Lucas's birthday gift thank-you's we had a little family drawing contest.  The kids and I looked at various pictures of Heat Miser and Snow Miser and then drew them freehand.  When we were all done I handed out awards to each of them.  It was fun and I thought they all did a SUPER job!

 Lucas's Heat Miser
He got a little discouraged looking at everyone else's and decided not to try to draw Snow Miser, but he did really enjoy looking at the other drawings.

A great way to stay warm

Is to read together...

Sometimes you need...

a little help from a friend.
(Even gecko's need help sometimes)

Clydette looked like she was wearing gloves the other day... she had shed but was unable to get the skin off her tiny feet.
We got her taken care of and she was much happier.

Show & Tell

On the first day Samuel returned to Pre-K after Christmas break, he got to take a toy for Show & Tell.  This was a first for him and he was SO excited!  He chose Superman & his (ro)bot.

The not-so-snowy fort

It's great when a snow fort survives several periods of melting, even when the snow around it vanishes...  It has continued to be a favorite spot to play in our yard!

Snow piles

We discovered that the church next door had some nice snow piles in their parking lot, so we took advantage of them!

 There were lots of icicles!

Another time we also buried Emma and Samuel in the snow...

Samuel said he was cozy and didn't want to get out.
