The Creation Museum- Day 1

For Christmas last year we gave my Mother a ticket to the Creation Museum in Petersburg, KY.  Our spring break trip centered around this, so we spent most of our next vacation day at the museum.
It was incredible.
We saw many different types of fossils and skeletons...

Lucas LOVED the turtles and fish:

What do you think he's look at?
It's this dinosaur up by the ceiling!
There were very life sized statues, and some even talked!
Recreations of various scenes like this one of the Garden of Eden
A model of Noah's Ark, and some really neat displays about this...
Noah, and some others preparing the ark...

Dad and Emma standing near a "to-scale" model of one of 132 bays that were in the ark.  Amazing!
Much of what we saw centered around the seven C's...

Oh, and we can't forget the colorful frogs we saw...

There was a Chinese Dragon display that was pretty cool too

Early in our day we lost Samuel.  Yes, that's right... My mom thought he was with Brian & I, and we thought he was with her.  Poor kid wandered around for a short time before a museum worker noticed his distress and escorted him to a safe place to wait.  When we realized he was missing, it only took a few minutes to find him and he was all smiles.  He had done a great job telling the workers our names, and they had printed a picture of us (like the one at the top of this page) to identify us and to make him feel better.  It was a learning experience for everyone, and not something we would like to repeat, but what a blessing for it to happen in this place instead of someplace else...

It was a rainy day so we spent all of our time inside, with plans to return the next day to explore the outdoor portion of the museum.
