The Arch

We were all very interested in the Gateway Arch...

And we saw it from various angels as drove around St. Louis.

But when it came time to actually go to the arch, we discovered that we were poorly prepared.  There is much construction near the arch and we didn't realize that we couldn't go inside (downstairs) until a half an hour before our tour.  So we had some time to kill just hanging around outside.

Once we finally got inside and got some fudge, things were a little better for a bit, but then we found ourselves in a line that seemed like it would never end.  

FINALLY we rode the tram to the top.  I could still recall the view from being up there as a child.  The kids thought it was pretty neat, but were soon ready to head back down.
