Egg-imals
I grew up listening to the song Egbert the Easter Egg... now our kids listen to it as well.
They didn't actually make Egbert, but they did make some cute egg-imals!
Nathan: Owl & Green Skunk
Emma: Bunny & Sheep
Samuel: Chic & Blue Mouse
Lucas: Dog & Yellow Skunk
Easter Bunny
You should've seen Lucas's face when I told him we were going to see the Easter Bunny. His face lit up in a way I have never seen it and he shrieked with pure joy!
Emma said something about seeing the "Easter Bunny with his fake eyes."
They all loved him! Lucas smiled at him and at us, but not for the picture.

Spring Snow
Yep, another snow day post...
After coloring eggs, guess what we did? We went outside to play in the snow AGAIN (and finish our snow man).
Nathan wanted to go out this time... :)
Emma and her big snowball
"Hi snowman!"
When we went inside we had hot chocolate with our dinner, and after dinner enjoyed real snow=cones for the second time that day! What fun!
Egg-citing!
We took advantage of our extra time on our snow day and colored Easter eggs.
Then came the eating...
Nathan passed.
Emma loved hers and wanted me to take a picture of it:

Samuel really savored his...
until he noticed the "butter"... lol
And he did admit to thinking you were supposed to eat the shell.
Lucas was eager to try one, but the look on his face pretty much sums up his thoughts about eating hard boiled eggs.
Snow Day!
We don't get many snow days around here so when they called off school on Monday due to snow, the excitement level in our home was extreme. Brian even took the day off so he could be home with all of us!
After breakfast Lucas came up to me and said, "Pleeeease I go in the no?"
So, the first thing we did was go outside and play in the awesome snow... and it continued to snow the whole time we were out!
Emma couldn't wait to be the first one down the slide! It was not a slick snow though- so she kept getting stuck!
Samuel kept saying, "This is the BEST DAY EVER!"
I love the snowflakes on his eye lashes!
Nathan didn't want to go out... Yes we do force our children to play in the snow. Truth be told though, he had a GREAT time!
Emma enjoyed making snowballs, and even made a "fairy house"... (a snow mound with a little hole for fairies and other small creatures.)

One of the great things about Emma going to a private school is that we still got to go on her field trip! Her teacher just called everyone to see if we all still wanted to. We had lunch at a Mexican restaurant (they've been studying Mexico). It was fun, and Emma learned that she likes white cheese queso just like Mom & Dad!

Nathan humored us by dressing up for "elderly day" even though there was no school... Here he is wearing my Grandpa's tie and my Dad's tie tac.
It turned out to be good for him that school was cancelled. The next day he found out that Monday was really "crazy hair day", not "elderly day"!
We spent the afternoon coloring eggs and playing in the snow!

Easter activities begin
Last Saturday we started our day with fresh baked Resurrection Rolls! This was a special treat- something we haven't made before, but it is very easy and oh so yummy!
We cut a large marshmallow in half, dipped it in melted butter, rolled it in cinnamon & sugar, then wrapped it up in crescent roll dough until it was completely covered. While doing this we talked about how Christ (marshmallow) died, and his body was prepared for the tomb (crescent roll) with oils (butter) and spices (cinnamon & sugar). Ready to bake!
They are nice and puffy when they come out of the oven...
Take a bite and the marshmallow is gone! Jesus has risen!
This was our activity at my Moms group last month so we could all see how easy these were and could make them with our children. Pretty cool, huh?
We will be making them again on Easter morning.
Emma said, "Okay I know this isn't real... Jesus isn't a marshmallow, but what happened to it?"
In the afternoon we went to Grandma's house for dinner and to visit with Aunt Jeanne. We decorated the tree with Easter eggs like we always do:
Big brother helping littlest brother
Aunt Jeanne hugs
Emma was chilly so Daddy put her in his sweatshirt...
After dinner I took Emma and Samuel to church for a Children's Ministry Easter Celebration. They had an egg hunt, a craft, snacks, songs and a lesson.
Realizing that all of the eggs were empty (to remind them of the empty tomb.) All the kids handled it well and got a treat bag in the end...
QUITE the fun EASTERY day!
