Easter activities begin

Last Saturday we started our day with fresh baked Resurrection Rolls!  This was a special treat- something we haven't made before, but it is very easy and oh so yummy!
We cut a large marshmallow in half, dipped it in melted butter, rolled it in cinnamon & sugar, then wrapped it up in crescent roll dough until it was completely covered.  While doing this we talked about how Christ (marshmallow) died, and his body was prepared for the tomb (crescent roll) with oils (butter) and spices (cinnamon & sugar).  Ready to bake!
They are nice and puffy when they come out of the oven...
Take a bite and the marshmallow is gone!  Jesus has risen!
This was our activity at my Moms group last month so we could all see how easy these were and could make them with our children.  Pretty cool, huh?
We will be making them again on Easter morning.
Emma said, "Okay I know this isn't real... Jesus isn't a marshmallow, but what happened to it?"

In the afternoon we went to Grandma's house for dinner and to visit with Aunt Jeanne.  We decorated the tree with Easter eggs like we always do:

Emma was chilly so Daddy put her in his sweatshirt...

After dinner I took Emma and Samuel to church for a Children's Ministry Easter Celebration.  They had an egg hunt, a craft, snacks, songs and a lesson.

Realizing that all of the eggs were empty (to remind them of the empty tomb.)  All the kids handled it well and got a treat bag in the end...
QUITE the fun EASTERY day!
