Snow Day!

We don't get many snow days around here so when they called off school on Monday due to snow, the excitement level in our home was extreme.  Brian even took the day off so he could be home with all of us!
After breakfast Lucas came up to me and said, "Pleeeease I go in the no?"
So, the first thing we did was go outside and play in the awesome snow... and it continued to snow the whole time we were out!

Emma couldn't wait to be the first one down the slide!  It was not a slick snow though- so she kept getting stuck!
Samuel kept saying, "This is the BEST DAY EVER!"
I love the snowflakes on his eye lashes!
Nathan didn't want to go out... Yes we do force our children to play in the snow.  Truth be told though, he had a GREAT time!
Emma enjoyed making snowballs, and even made a "fairy house"... (a snow mound with a little hole for fairies and other small creatures.)

One of the great things about Emma going to a private school is that we still got to go on her field trip!  Her teacher just called everyone to see if we all still wanted to. We had lunch at a Mexican restaurant (they've been studying Mexico).  It was fun, and Emma learned that she likes white cheese queso just like Mom & Dad!
After lunch we took a drive around town to look at the beautiful snow (Emma's idea)

Nathan humored us by dressing up for "elderly day" even though there was no school...  Here he is wearing my Grandpa's tie and my Dad's tie tac.

It turned out to be good for him that school was cancelled.  The next day he found out that Monday was really "crazy hair day", not "elderly day"!

We spent the afternoon coloring eggs and playing in the snow!
