On Thanksgiving we rolled out a new tradition for our family. You may be familiar with the Elf on the Shelf that has been around for several years. We have never really been interested in that, but this year we thought we had a great idea that could involve the whole family. We introduced our children to Christopher Pop In Kins (book and doll):
It's a cute story about an elf who wants to meet "real children" so Santa gives him permission to "pop in" on them.
Our children loved the idea of him and were eager to participate in our fun little game. Each night one of them (or Brian and I) get to set him up doing something of their choice. The next morning the rest of us get to try to find him.
Since Emma was sick on Thanksgiving, we let her go first:
Since there was no snow, Emma let Christopher make a "rice angel"

Nathan thought Christopher would love to play his paper jam drums...
Samuel had Christopher building with Legos
Who knew (but Emma) that Christopher likes ballet?
Nathan made sure he recovered with a little game of football!
Samuel thought Christopher must have a pretty good sweet tooth, so he shared his candy basket...
Emma helped him color a nice Christmas picture
Mom thought it was time Christopher had a really exciting adventure!
We are doing this all month... so more to come!
